Attorneys for online entrepreneur Jeremy Johnson are appealing a federal judge's decision to jail him until he is sentenced after his conviction by a federal court jury.

Johnson's attorneys filed a notice of appeal Friday of U.S. District Judge David Nuffer's decision April 1 to jail the St. George businessman until his June 30 sentencing.

A jury last month found Johnson guilty of eight charges of making false statements to a bank on applications for merchant accounts. But jurors acquitted him of 78 other charges related to alleged bank fraud.

The appeal is being made to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver and is expected to be expedited.
